Alba Fury release new single ‘Out Of Time’

Here’s something to get you bouncing into the weekend. It’s from a band new to our ears and we reckon you might just enjoy jumping around to whilst you get into the weekend. The song is titled ‘Out of Time’ (not a cover of the Jagger/Richards tune from the sixties) and it’s got one of those infectious grooves that invites you to jig about in your own special way. Alba Fury are from Edinburgh, they’ve been together since 2023 so are as fresh as a daisy. The band members are Michael Ward (lead vocals), Sam Greig (guitar), Jamie Thomson (bass & backing vocals), and Fraser Plumb (drums). The release comes two weeks before the band’s debut gig at the Windsor Hotel in Kirkcaldy, where they are supporting Scottish artist DOVV, alongside a line-up that includes Vida, Robin Ashcroft, Luke Porter, and Voodoo Pilots. Go see them, download the single, tell your mates before they become the next big thing. It’s always good for the soul to be into something at the start. Give them a listen below, turn it up loud, start jumping.

Jamie Thomson, the band’s songwriter and bass player, says:

‘Out of Time is a song about mortality. It’s about realising that our time on earth is limited, and the only thing we can do is accept it. It’s a pretty bleak subject, but I think it’s also quite life-affirming. The song is an exploration of impermanence and the conflicting feelings that go with it. I guess it’s also a way of trying to connect with people who have similar contradictory feelings about what it means to make the most of your life.’
