Hello Zsud…….welcome to the Clunk universe

Hi, great to be here!

Could you tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? What first got you interested in music?

I grew up in the eastern part of Hungary in a small town. As a kid my parents made me go to music school so this is why I started to play the piano. I loved it, however as a teenager I needed to break some patterns so I quit. I went to Technical University, but music just crawled back to my life later on.

Your album REWIRING is out now. Why the title?

The core of this album is about transformative changes. There are certain points where you just have to get rid of everything you believed was a part of you and rewire yourself. I think the pandemic is also a rewiring point. We are forced to face the fact that the lifestyle we had is not sustainable and we have to change our path or there will be more consequences.

Congratulations on a fabulous debut. There is quite a mixture of songs on it. Could you tell us when you wrote the songs and what inspired you?

I wrote the first songs in 2018. As for inspiration it is very diverse, some of them are based on personal experiences, some of them are about philosophical questions like is there time at all? Or do we deserve the negative side effects of globalism?

How do you go about writing songs? Does it start with a lyric, or a melody, or a mixture of various sources?

It is different in every case and I am pretty happy I don’t have a fixed method. Songwriting can be so colorful and can be started from so many angles. Sometimes it is the lyrics, sometimes a melody or a sound design element.

Perhaps in the summer/Autumn you may be able to take REWIRING on the road. Are there any tour plans pencilled into the diary?

Not yet, although I would looove to take these songs finally on stage. Germany would be really great, also the UK, and I have a special kind of relationship with Poland, it would be nice to play there too.

Can you recommend any bands/artists we should be giving a listen to?

Saya Noé is amazing, also The Anahit is definitely worth checking!

Thank you so much for taking the time with Clunk. We hope to see you in the near future.
