On the song, Anna offered “Having newly moved to Ireland, more specifically Donegal, I was wrestling with an exceptionally varied litany of emotions: hope, homesickness, shame about English colonialism and history, fear, love of a new place. The way this song lilts and builds out of nowhere feels like a representation of this kind of overwhelm.”
