The high-energy Irish guitar quintet, Gurriers, today release “Approachable”, the latest single from their much anticipated debut album, Come and See, out 13 September 2024 via No Filter.
Recorded as part of the album session with Alex Greaves at The Nave Studios in Leeds, this is a newly recorded, definitive version of “Approachable” which sits on point sonically with the rest of the record. Come and See is a truly thrilling collection of razor-sharp progressive punk songs full of furious sucker punches. Firing on all cylinders, Gurriers present a searing counterattack on the malaise of the modern age.
A tongue-in-cheek anthem mourning the rise of the far right (“Damn, I was born in the wrong era”), “Approachable” kicks off with a monstrous killer riff. About the track, which was premiered by HuwStephens on BBC Radio 6 Music, the band said:
“This is a protest song, written from the perspective of a right wing extremist and inspired by the concerning far right movement starting in Ireland.”
