I’ve been to Blackpool, had Harry Ramsden fish n chips and a cuppa, watched Blur in action, I think visited a Star Trek exhibition, didn’t eat a stick of rock and didn’t form a band. This lot did. Apparently Umarells cemented the new relationship on a day trip to Blackpool. It turned out quite nice. There’s a new single called ‘June’ with an EP out, ‘One More Day‘ is set for release on 08 November 2024 via Fear of Missing Out Records. They’ve got a nice groove so check them out.
The faded sparkle of the Blackpool seaside trails through five postcards of smouldering indie-rock on the EP, from the intimate title track to the glistening guitars of “June,” which was inspired by a Smashing Pumpkins riff.
“June” is “the epitome of the lighter days coming in through a dark winter; someone who pulls you out of a depressive slump by just being around. Seeing the sun through your curtains after countless grey days,” say the band.
you can see them on 31 Aug at the Manchester Psych Fest.
