Poland-based songwriter and song producer Anastasia Rydlevskaya presents the fourth full-length album of her discography, Alchemia. This conceptual work explores trauma, overcoming shame, and reclaiming personal feminine power.
Structurally, the album is built around the classical stages of alchemy – Nigredo, Albedo, Citrinitas, and Rubedo – and symbolizes the brutal psychological transformation that follows a traumatic relationship. Through this record, listeners follow the heroine’s path of total rebirth: from being crushed by betrayal and toxic attachment to the birth of Lilith, a ruthless goddess of retribution. In a literal sense, this album is an opus magnum, the alchemical Great Work translated into the language of music and emotion.
Alchemia is not just a conceptual story, but also one of Rydlevskaya’s most musically diverse releases. Sound itself undergoes alchemy here: electronic music constantly shift forms, moving from the minimalism of Steve Reich and the harsh, dark trip-hop of the Bristol school to cold, cavernous tribal rhythms and even high-speed, merciless acid techno – all in accordance with the teachings of medieval mystics.
Alchemia was created entirely as an independent DIY project, without the involvement of music labels, managers or PR teams. Rydlevskaya wrote, produced and recorded the entire album herself in her bedroom, and also handled most of the mixing and mastering, inviting her friend Aliaksandr Karneichuk (KorneJ) for the final polish. This absolute autonomy reinforces the album’s central message: full control over one’s own voice, boundaries, and story.
