Katrina Ford has announced her new album To The Lighthouse, due out October 2nd. There is also the release of the encompassing, grandiose single “Winter Sun.” The track follows lead single “Transcending” which earned support from Brooklyn Vegan, FLOOD Magazine, Northern Transmissions, and more. To The Lighthouse is Ford’s first full length since her 2024 LP H.E.A.R.T, which garnered acclaim from Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, KEXP, All Music, and many others.
“Nostalgia as a balm,” Ford says of the track. “Music is cool then warm. In the tropics there existsthe phenomenon of a zero shadow day . On this day the Sun is exactly overhead at noon anddoes not cast a shadow. Eerily it makes everything look like it’s floating. Seeing my shadow, like my negative self, forever following. I dreamt of being free from it. I remembered what it was like
before I knew it was there before the dark night of the soul..”
