Here’s something new and rather lovely. It’s the new single from Kathleen Frances. It’s called ‘Kitchen Sink’.

On the track Kathleen Frances said “This song is an exploration of the rhythm of moving apart and coming together that happens in a romantic relationship. The chorus captures a playful moment where the other person makes you laugh and you almost forget why you were annoyed with them in the first place. You may not always be getting it right but you’re trying to learn from past selves and past generations. I connect deeply with this song, it captures my own life; when love, familiarity and shared humour floods back in a wave of joy.

I love the metaphor of a ‘kitchen sink drama’ that runs through this song, it references; previous generations, things we’ve grown up watching and learning that don’t necessarily serve us, and it sets it squarely in the intimacy of a home.”

Kathleen Frances has a strong interest in the relationship between sound, texture and performance. After studying music at degree level, she began exploring production more deeply, taking a hands-on approach to shaping her own recordings. With a particular focus on vocal production, she experiments with recording techniques and setups to capture the nuances of a performance, creating intimate, textural records that balance instinct with experimentation.
